PEPSI sponsored this design and build. PEPSI marketing asked me to design a lowrider bicycle. Coincidentally, I was living in San Diego where many traditional lowrider bike builders were located. Pepsi wanted my take on a lowrider bike. This bike was on PEPSI's 16 city tour for Dub magazine. The PEPSI bike has been featured in several magazines as well as in several art shows.
The Chevy Impala is the gold standard in the lowrider culture. It serve as the focal inspiration for lowrider bicycles.
My inspiration came from early Japanese vehicles and the aftermarket industry of the 80's. In the Philippines so much of the car culture was influenced by the car culture in Japan. When these car guys migrated to California in the 70's and 80's they brought the Japanese car culture with them.
